Back to School at 53

Oh my what an eventful summer it has been for me and my family. I must start with the main attraction and introduce to the world my first grandchild Reina. I was fortunate enough to be present at her birth, a thrilling experience taking part in helping my daughter Brittney in this most joyous circle of life. There we were, three generations, crying tears of pure love. The feelings involved are so overwhelming it truly is difficult to put in to words. One of my first comments to my lovely granddaughter was,"Look at her beautiful pink skin!" Perfect baby soft skin.

I had decided that this was the summer I would finally make up my mind to get my working life in order and make a decision on what to do when I grow up. At 53 years young I have a couple of careers under my belt and they have both pretty much run their course. After floundering around in the ever-changing sea of career confusion, just like that I decided to go back to school. A few years ago I had worked at one of the top health spa's in the world and really enjoyed the holistic, calming atmosphere. I was lucky enough to receive many of the spa treatments, my favorite being the facial. Lying in a dimly lit room smelling of essential oils while strong yet gentle, skilled hands massaged my facial and neck muscles , erasing all lines of worry , I must have subconsciously known this profession was for me. So here I am 5 years later ready to become a student learning all about aesthetics and other holistic spa services. Interestingly enough the forthcoming birth of my grandchild gave me the extra push to come to this decision. I want to be a positive, educated role model for Brittney and Reina and perhaps for other women my age as well. From my teen years to the present, proper skin care has been one of my top priorities and I am very excited to share my knowledge with all generations. I have always fulfilled my wishes and embraced change. So here I go once again, another chapter in the life, my wish this time ... delivering that beautiful , pink skin.
